Treat sagging eyelids, skin tags and more

Plasma Pen

The Plasma Pen device is able to significantly tighten, lift, resurface, rejuvenate and regenerate any area of the skin. The Plasma Pen forces the skin tissue to contract virtually immediately by thermally disturbing the skin as well as fibroblasts. The micro trauma stimulates new collagen (neocollagenesis) and helps release and activate essential proteins and growth factors like cytokines and fibroblasts, which make more collagen than before it was disrupted.

The benefits are limitless

The plasma pen treats concerns without surgery, toxins or injections. This includes treating fine or deep lines & wrinkles

What is Plasma Pen?

Plasma Pen and pioneering blepharoplasty, sublimation and soft surgery fibro-blasting technique is designed to help dramatically repair & reverse skin effects by using state-of-the-art technology, proven science and sophisticated technique

Our Plasma Pen device creates nitrogen plasma gas, during the treatment, the energy collects on the surface of the barrier and a gaseous flash of ionized plasma gas is safely released from about 1mm above the skin. This transfers to the epidermal layer of skin to create superficial trauma and plasma fibroblasts.
New collagen continues to be formed over a period of 12 weeks following treatment.

Why choose Plasma Pen?

As we age, the dermal layer thins, less collagen is produced, the elastin fibres which provide our elasticity wear out and all the changes in the scaffolding of the skin cause it to wrinkle and sag. In simple terms – our skin loses laxity and texture as we grow older. It becomes loose, it sags and line and wrinkles appear. Think of it like scaffolding of a building if it were to rust, weaken and become unable to bear load or maintain flexibility, it will eventually sag and collapse.

The effects achieved by this treatment are comparable to that of surgery but has many advantages over such invasive methods:

The only treatment outside plastic surgery which can be performed on the eyelids

No injectable/general anaesthetic required
No scalpels, no cutting of the skin, no ablation and no scarring
No stitches/sutures required post-treatment
Very low risk procedure without medical risk or potentially life changing complications
Minimal side effect and shorter downtime
Quick and easy procedure with rapid recovery, most clients are able to return to work the same day
We are able to treat the delicate eye area safely, as well as practically any area of the skin/body
Enormous cost saving compared to comparable alternatives
Long-lasting results

What is the post care advice?

The treatment helps to activate and release important proteins in the dermis to regulate cell maturation (ageing) which encourages tissue regeneration and repair. The highly accurate and controlled trauma we cause to the epidermis makes the skin dry superficially into tiny carbon crusts which fall off within a few days.

The skin will have multiple millimetre trauma marks to the skins surface which appear in the formation of brown crusts on the skin surface and may last between 3 to 7 days. These crusts (carbon crusting) will dry up and fall off during the days following treatment, it is important not to pick/peel them off to prevent against infection, pigmentation or scarring. Weeping is a possibility but will settle quickly. There may also be mild swelling, especially if the eye area has been treated, but this is normal and to be expected. Swelling may last for 1 to 5 days.

The skin will appear pink in colour once the carbon crusts have fallen off, this is new skin and should be protected with SPF50 from then onwards.
We cannot express enough the need to protect your brand new skin by avoid direct sun, wearing SPF and sunglasses even on the dullest of days.

1. You may experience a “stinging” sensation in the treated area(s) immediately after treatment. This is normal and it generally only lasts for about an hour.
2. If the treated area is swollen, you may apply ice pack covered with a clean cloth. Do NOT apply ice directly onto the skin, as this can cause damage to the tissue. Avoid taking anti-inflammatory medications like aspirin, ibuprofen or steroids if possible.
3. If you are receiving a Plasma Pen treatment anywhere on your face or neck, we recommend you sleep on your back with your head elevated to reduce swelling.
4. DO NOT cleanse the treated area until the following day
5. Do NOT exercise 48 hours after treatment or expose yourself to any heat, steam or sweat because this can intensify the inflammation that’s already present

6. DO NOT moisturise the area, allow wound to dry heal. Aloe Vera gel can be applied to relive dry or itchy sensation.

Full aftercare advice will be given to you when you leave the clinic.

Am I suitable for the treatment?

Plasma Pen treatments can only be performed on clients who are skin types I to III on the Fitzpatrick skin type scale. A full consultation will be completed prior to treatment to ensure there are no other contraindications which may prevent us from being able to proceed with treatment. During the consultation details of skin type, contraindications, medical history and lifestyle will be recorded to determine whether or not we can proceed with treatment. Full aftercare instructions will also be provided

We ask clients to wait 3 weeks  after having any Botox or Injectable treatments or sun exposure to undergo Plasma Pen Treatment. Once the treatment has been performed the client also needs to ensure skin is fully healed before going on a sun holiday i.e. at least 4 weeks.
SPF50 must be worn for 12 weeks following treatment and ideally permantley as part of daily skincare routine going forward. Careful planning is needed during the holiday season.

Are there any complications with Plasma Pen ?

The treatment is very safe however on rare occasions you can get skin hypo-pigmentation (whitening) or hyperpigmentation (dark patches) generally more common in darker skins.
Because of the risk of pigmentation issues, we do not advice anyone with a darker skin type to have this treatment.

Persisting redness can be a common issue for a couple of months after the procedure, especially if aftercare is not followed.
We cannot express enough the need to protect your brand new skin by avoid direct sun, wearing SPF and sunglasses even on the dullest of days.
Foundation or concealer can be worn during this time.

Does it hurt?

At the start of your treatment we will apply a numbing cream and during the treatment we do have a cool air flow to ease any discomfort.
You will experience a mild stinging and it is best to relax and prepare yourself prior to the treatment, it is a very quick procedure in general but is not completely pain free.
