How does Laser Hair Removal work?: The revolutionary Motus AY is the world’s first and only laser hair removal technology to deliver two gold-standard lasers – Alexandrite and Nd:YAG in a virtually painless mode!
With its built-in MOVEO contact cooling tip technology, the Motus AY is the first FDA and NHS approved Alexandrite laser that can be used on all skin types (1-6) as well as successfully treating dark to fair hair types with unparalleled results.

This unique system uses FDA approved Moveo Technology for faster, virtually painless hair removal treatments. The treatment is delivered through a 20 mm integrated sapphire contact cooling tip with ultra-short pulse durations (2ms) in a multipass technique to increase comfort and safety without compromising on results

How many sessions will I need?: We recommend six sessions and sell all of our laser packages as a course of six, this is because we have found this to be a suitable amount of treatments to remove hair on most clients. Clinical studies show that clients have seen outstanding results in as little as four sessions with our brand new Motus AY.
Hair and skin type can play a part in how many you may require, once you have completed your six sessions we will decide if another full or half course is required but this is not always needed.
During your consultation we will be honest in our expectations for you and your hair loss journey.
We are happy to arrange a course of 1-3 treatment sessions for anyone who has previously had laser hair removal.

What aftercare should I expect?: Swelling/Discomfort/Redness:
The most common side effects are erythema and edema (redness and swelling) which generally
occur immediately after treatment and typically resolve within 24-48 hours.
Some clients experience mild itching post treatment, this is common and lasts approximately 1-2 days.

Sun Exposure:
Always use a SPF 30 to 50 following your laser treatment, inform your therapist when you have a holiday booked so that they can ensure a treatment gap of 4 weeks after sun exposure and 2-4 weeks prior.

Sun beds:
We do not permit the use of sunbeds for the duration of your laser treatment and highly recommend you follow this advise, failure to do so can lead to pigmentation.

Other things to avoid:
Avoid hot baths, saunas, Jacuzzis and pools for the first two days following treatment.
Waxing, epilation and plucking is a no during the course of your treatment, we need that follicle intact.

How long will the results last and is it permanent?: Although there is a dramatic reduction of unwanted hair, it is likely that a few hair follicles will not be completely destroyed by laser treatment. Many people will experience some hair growth within a year, but this will only be the odd hair here or there and will be quite insignificant compared to the original density of the hair prior to any laser treatment. Laser hair removal makes the hair more manageable, with a dramatic reduction from the first session in many cases.
Most clients are over the moon with the results and wish they had started sooner!

Due to hormonal activity in younger people or clients with PCOS more sessions may be required, the same goes for other hormonal or hereditary conditions.

Am I a good candidate for this treatment?

Due to the exceptional melanin absorption capabilities of a primary Alexandrite Laser, it is widely considered as unsuitable for use on skin types 5 and 6; that is until now.

The Motus AY is the world’s first FDA approved Alexandrite and Nd:YAG Laser for virtually ‘pain-free’ hair removal treatments on ALL skin types.
Differentiating it from any other Alexandrite Laser technology on the market.

Laser hair removal is for individuals who want to permanently reduce unwanted hair on their face or body through laser treatments because they’re tired of the conventional methods that only yield temporary results.

For safety reasons, you may not be able to get this treatment if you have/are:

Previous problems with laser therapy
A history of keloid scarring
Active infection or history of herpes simplex in the treatment area
Use of depilatories or other hair removal treatments, such as waxing, plucking, or electrolysis, within 6 weeks prior to treatment
Hypersensitivity to hydroquinone or other bleaching agents
Use of oral Accutane within 6 weeks prior to treatment

Grey/white hair has no melanin so is not recommended for treatment.

I have darker skin, can I still get this treatment?: YES!
Our brand new Motus AY with Moveo technology treats all Photo-types from fair skin to dark skin, including Skin Type 6 (black skin). The great thing about the Motus AY is that also has the nd:YAG option which is renowned for treating skin types IV – VI.
Moveo allows the Alexandrite Laser to work at 100% efficiency while in contact with the skin, therefore avoiding wasted energy. As a result, practitioners can use lower power to achieve the same extraordinary results, all whilst making treatments safer & pain free while minimising side effects and downtime.

How should I prepare for my treatment?: Make sure your skin is clean and you have a shaved the area as smooth as possible. Do not apply any lotions, creams or makeup (if you’re getting a treatment on your face) before your session, and stop using any products that might irritate your skin 2-3 days before. Remove all jewellery around the area being treated.
Your therapist will ask about any tattoos or piercings and will also ask about your medical history, so it helps to have that information ready.

DO NOT USE A SUNBED IN THE WEEKS PRIOR TO YOUR FIRST TREATMENT AND AT ALL DURING THE ENTIRE COURSE.

What does the treatment feel like?: Our laser hair removal treatments are now pain free!

How will I feel after the treatment?: You may feel like you have a slight sunburn around the treatment area, but this should go away almost immediately and for more sensitive skin after 1-2 days.
You can use a cold compress to cool the area if need be. You may also see some hairs fall out more easily in the days following your treatment—this is perfectly normal. Some patients may also experience what appears to be a rash accompanied by some mild itching. This is also normal—it’s just the skin’s response to the energy. The redness and itching will subside over a few days. Cool compresses or antibiotic ointment can help speed up the healing process.

We do have a dedicated page for male laser but the principals are the same, the only area we do not treat is the pubic area.
